Boy Scouts of America

A major project was started in the Fall of 2007 to develop an information system to help the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) manage information about current Boy Scout entities and help them identify geographical areas of potential interest for fund raising, new scout candidates and new scout troops.
The BSA mapping system was completed during the summer of 2008. The system is a web based system that uses Google Maps to allow both the general public and BSA personnel to visually view BSA information. The public interface is provided to allow access to generic information such as the location of troops. A secure interface is provided to allow access to information about the troop membership and health. Census Bureau data is used to provide information about potential BSA members and troop locations.
